Basking in year-round sunshine, the beautiful and easygoing city of Santa Barbara is located 100 km northwest of Los Angeles along the Pacific coast. The city is rich in diverse attractions, including the historic mission, the noted botanic garden featuring California native plants, outdoor sports facilities, and numerous shopping venues. Rich Spanish heritage is reflected in the city’s distinctive architecture, the cobbled pathways, red tile roofs, and mission-style adobe buildings. Natural beauty surrounds the city with a dramatic mix of mountains, valleys, beaches, islands, and the sea. Few cities in the world boast as many restaurants per capita as Santa Barbara, where creative mouth-watering cuisine is prepared with fresh local produce and paired with superb vintages from the Santa Barbara wine country.

The Rose Symposium meeting location is the Santa Barbara Inn, located on Cabrillo Boulevard, directly across from the beach with its sand and palm trees. A shuttle provides transportation to the downtown area, or attendees may simply wish to walk along the beach to the Santa Barbara pier and terminus of the downtown shopping mall.
